Ngibonile Othandweni

Phangandawo looks at love through the eyes of experience on Ngibonile Othandweni, a Maskandi EP that suggests there is more to relationships than what people see from the outside. Its title sets the tone for a project shaped by what the artist has encountered, learned and witnessed in matters of the heart.

The EP explores the different sides of love, moving beyond romance to consider the situations and emotions that relationships can bring. Phangandawo uses the songs to share observations and experiences, allowing each track to approach the subject from its own point of view.

Ngibonile Othandweni stays rooted in Maskandi, with guitar-driven rhythms providing the backdrop for Phangandawo’s vocal storytelling. The emphasis remains on the words, giving the messages enough space to come through without unnecessary distractions.

With Ngibonile Othandweni, Phangandawo turns lessons from love into a focused body of work. The EP speaks to listeners who have experienced both the good and difficult sides of relationships, using Maskandi as a platform to tell those stories.
