Bheja mdoda

Hlubelihle joins forces with Shenge Wasehlalankosi for Bheja Mdoda, a new Maskandi EP that brings their musical styles together across a compact collection. The project gives both artists room to contribute while keeping its direction firmly connected to the storytelling side of Maskandi.

Bheja Mdoda draws on subjects associated with everyday life, personal experiences and the situations people encounter along the way. Hlubelihle leads the project with a direct vocal approach, while Shenge Wasehlalankosi’s presence adds another voice and perspective to the release.

The EP works around the guitar-led rhythms and vocal exchanges that remain central to Maskandi. The arrangements leave space for the lyrics to be heard clearly, allowing the messages within the songs to carry as much importance as the instrumentation.

With Bheja Mdoda, Hlubelihle delivers a focused release that does not need a lengthy tracklist to make its point. The collaboration with Shenge Wasehlalankosi gives the EP an added dimension, offering Maskandi followers a fresh project to explore from beginning to end.
